Living with chronic pain – sharing experience around the world
Most of our members have chronic pain due to musculoskeletal problems, like back problems, fibromyalgia or myofascial pain. Our support group is however not limited to any specific diagnosis. Many members have several health problems with overlapping symptoms. Some suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, others have fibromyalgia or Lyme disease. Some people don’t even have any diagnosis or they suffer from chronic pain without any known reason.

What to do when family and friends don’t understand me?

“Just mho, but everyone has their problems. And they will never understand yours unless they have them. Bring the pain and disability and frustration here, we will probably get it. Don’t expect others to understand. Take care of yourself, none else can.”
How was it to find our support group?

“…..much of what everyone said brought tears to my eyes. I have struggled for years to find people who truly understood how I felt and it’s very comforting to see that I’m not alone. Of course I wish that no-one had to experience the difficulties that pain and disability brings.”
